Induction & Ongoing Support

Our company Induction aims to provide new team members with an insight into Chessington and Merlin Entertainments.

Induction is the first step of a new employee's training – Right from the beginning, we want you to understand the values that enable us to create the best atmosphere and deliver the highest quality of service. We'll make sure you feel prepared, part of a team and ready for your first day.

After your induction, you'll receive comprehensive training on how to perform your specific departmental role effectively. This is sometimes classroom-based, but will always have an element of on-the-job learning. All our training is aimed at helping you to feel comfortable and settle in. A large part will focus on team-building, so you will make plenty of friends along the way. This is a really important part of our culture as teamwork is essential to success.

Once you're feeling confident then we let you loose with our guests, as real-life situations are where you will learn best. You needn't be worried, as you'll have plenty of experienced colleagues at hand to support you in your first weeks and beyond. You'll also have your own personal team leader, nominated to look after you throughout your time with us.

For those of you that start at the very beginning of the season we always have a dress-rehearsal day, which is really valuable in helping you prepare for our official opening. This involves inviting friends and families to come along for a pre-opening glimpse of the park and all its attractions. It's a great day, and being amongst your own friends and family really helps you to deal with those first-time butterflies.
